Based on my experience, it’s easy to find tutorial how to install Kloxo-MR, but hard to find tutorial how to uninstall Kloxo-MR, lack of documentation for Kloxo-MR make the installation of Kloxomr difficult for some system administrators.

If you had problem during kloxo-mr installation, the easy way to troubleshoot is recreate your VPS container, but if you won’t do that, you can reinstalling kloxo-mr from scratch, but make sure the system has clean from previous install to avoid problem.

[Cpanel] Edit httpd.conf and save the configuration changed

Posted by cikul | Posted in cpanel | Posted on 12-07-2012-05-2008

If you simply comment/change configuration in httpd.conf and distill those changes, they will return whenever you recompile Apache again or rebuild Apache again.

After removing the entries in httpd.conf, you can do the following commands to ensure they are properly distilled into the new configuration:

cp /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf.bak
/usr/local/cpanel/bin/apache_conf_distiller --update
/scripts/rebuildhttpdconf
/etc/init.d/httpd restart

The commands above will copy a backup of the existing httpd.conf, distill the changes you’ve made, rebuild Apache configuration, and restart Apache to ensure the new changes take effect.

Restrict who can use php.ini SuPHP

Posted by cikul | Posted in cpanel, Linux | Posted on 09-07-2012-05-2008

There are several methods that can be used to disallow users to have their own php.ini files under suPHP. The path you take will depend on whether you want to allow users to have their own in some circumstances or to restrict all accounts on the server to the global php.ini file at /usr/local/lib/php.ini location.

Restrict all accounts to the global php.ini file

NginX is the fast webserver with high performance and low resource. Many enterprises, such as WordPress and Comodo, already switched to NginX as it proves to be the most powerful web-server .

Nginx can work as a front end reverse proxy of your cPanel server along with apache. Which will increase the performace.

cPanel Error – invalid maildirsize file

If you get Error – invalid maildirsize file when attempting to change the quota for an email account, here’s a solution that will fix this problem.

  1. If you have server/root owner, you can run this command :
    /scripts/generate_maildirsize –force –allaccounts
  2. If you just have cpanel account, you can Connect to your site via FTP.
  3. Navigate to the following path /mail/yourdomain.com/user
  4. From this directory, delete the file named maildirsize
  5. Once this file is deleted, cPanel will automatically recreate this file with proper values. You might have to wait for email activity for this to happen. You will also have to refresh your cPanel page.

If the correct mailbox quota is still not being displayed, from within cPanel, you can navigate to email accounts and click the change quota button to set a new quota.

Unlock WHM From Brute Force Error

cPHulk Brute Force Protection prevents malicious forces from trying to access your server’s services by guessing the login password for that service. BUT sometimes it becomes troublesome when you are accessing the cPanel with incorrect password and cPanel assuming you as attacker blocks you with below message :

—————————————————————————————
This account is currently locked out because a brute force attempt was detected. Please wait 10 minutes and try again. Attempting to login again will only increase this delay. If you frequently experience this problem, we recommend having your username changed to something less generic.
