Install MariaDB on CentOS

MariaDB repositories doesn’t included by default on CentOS.
If you want to install MariaDB using YUM, you need to add MariaDB repository

nano /etc/yum.repos.d/MariaDB.repo

for CentOS 32-bit add

[mariadb]
name = MariaDB
baseurl = http://yum.mariadb.org/5.5/centos6-x86
gpgkey=https://yum.mariadb.org/RPM-GPG-KEY-MariaDB
gpgcheck=1

for CentOS 64-bit add

[mariadb]
name = MariaDB
baseurl = http://yum.mariadb.org/5.5/centos6-amd64
gpgkey=https://yum.mariadb.org/RPM-GPG-KEY-MariaDB
gpgcheck=1

Then try to run

yum -y update
yum -y install MariaDB-client MariaDB-server MariaDB-devel
service mysql start

To improve the security of your MariaDB installation, please run

mysql_secure_installation

follow the instruction, and then you can now using your MariaDB
