When I try to set archivelog in another machine using this guidance. I’ve got this error message :

SQL> startup mount;
ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area  320309648 bytes
Fixed Size                   731536 bytes
Variable Size             285212672 bytes
Database Buffers           33554432 bytes
Redo Buffers                 811008 bytes
Database mounted.
SQL> alter database archivelog;
alter database archivelog
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00265: instance recovery required, cannot set ARCHIVELOG mode

From Manual, the error describe here :

ORA-00265: instance recovery required, cannot set ARCHIVELOG mode
 *Cause: The database either crashed or was shutdown with the ABORT
          option. Media recovery cannot be enabled because the online
          logs may not be sufficient to recover the current datafiles.
 *Action: Open the database and then enter the SHUTDOWN command with the
          NORMAL or IMMEDIATE option.

It happen because you are using shutdown abort or your shutdown process abnormal.  To fix this problem, you must restart and shutdown database using normal start :

SQL> startup
ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area  320309648 bytes
Fixed Size                   731536 bytes
Variable Size             285212672 bytes
Database Buffers           33554432 bytes
Redo Buffers                 811008 bytes
Database mounted.
Database opened.
SQL> alter database archivelog;
alter database archivelog
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01126: database must be mounted EXCLUSIVE and not open for this operation

SQL> shutdown immediate
Database closed.
Database dismounted.
ORACLE instance shut down.
SQL> startup mount
ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area  320309648 bytes
Fixed Size                   731536 bytes
Variable Size             285212672 bytes
Database Buffers           33554432 bytes
Redo Buffers                 811008 bytes

SQL> alter database archivelog;
