Today I have problem in one of pc in my office, the problem is while we want to install something, and we try to execute file setup.exe or install.exe (default name for installation file), they don’t works  and notepad opened with ASCII code that i don’t understand what its mean.

I try to check file types in Windows Explorer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> file Types, but nothing wrong with the file settings.

After research in some forums, i try to check the registry setting, precisely in part:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\setup.exe

and

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\install.exe

and i found debugger value that makes every setup.exe and install.exe file opened with notepad

I try to remove the value, and everything back to normal..

Now my task is to find what makes the registry setting was changed. I suspect there was viruses that changed the registry.
